We know, we know. This has been rumored for the last millenia (or couple years in mobile phone time), but we can actually put some weight to this story this time. Here’s why: Nikkei is Japan’s biggest media conglomerate. Period. Thus, when it says Sony Ericsson is working on a phone that will combine its best gaming technology with its best phone technology, it means it.
Traditionally, Nikkei has been a solid source of information, so in addition to this rumour making sense, it also is pretty credible. Integration of Sony’s PlayStation platform is the last brand they can involve with Sony Ericsson, which includes Cybershot and Walkman branding already. The device itself is rumoured to compete directly with the iPhone, and logically it would involve use of PSP-ready games.
